Billy Kolber is the founder of ManAboutWorld, the first interactive gay travel magazine. He’s been circling the globe since his senior year of college, when he organized a round-the-world tour as business manager of the Whiffenpoofs. He later co-founded OUT&ABOUT, the groundbreaking gay travel newsletter and website. He believes that travel -- the authentic, personal experience of different peoples, places and cultures -- is transformative and that being gay allows us to cut through many of the formalities and barriers that separate most other travelers from the people and places they visit. And in so doing, we experience a profoundly intimate global connection that few others will. Billy has visited 48 countries but still lives in Manhattan, where he was born.
